The Blogger
I am Bone Doc. Most of my friends call me “Doc” or “Dokie”, an alias commonly given to people in my kind of work. I’m a thirty-something Orthopedic Surgeon who loves computers, trek and got lost in the mountains and up to now happily whack shuttlecocks in mid air. You can read my story here.
I graduated BS Bio from UP in the Visayas (1994), Doctor of Medicine from U.P. College of Medicine, UP Manila (2000) and recently, Orthopedics at UP-PGH (2005).I am a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a fellow of the Philippine Orthopedic Association Presently I am an orthopedic consultant to several hospitals here in Tacurong City (SLMCH, SKDH, SMCH) and in Davao Medical Center, Davao City.
I have so many other non medical interests in life ( e.g computers, badminton, mountaineering, outdoors,) and blogging is just one of them.I started blogging at Friendster two years ago and moved to Blogspot just this year. Now, I just migrated to WordPress after much experimenting with blogspot. I am a novice in this venture, but I love the habit and my learning has been nothing but exhilarating!

hi doc,
i happen to stumble upon your blog while googling for information on climbing Mt Apo. i’m from singapore and plan to climb Mt Apo this coming April/May with 1 or 2 other friends. Looks like you’ve already been there and done that.
i was wondering if there’s a guide or company you can recommend to organise the trek? my friends and i have climbed regularly around the region and we have our basic personal gears, but for this trip, we do not plan to bring equipments (tents, cooking gear, etc). any recommendation or help is greatly appreciated.
cheers,
jT
